Our mission is to provide children with Type 1 diabetes an educational camp experience in a safe and fun environment.
Camp UPeninsulin encourages children with diabetes to have fun and learn new skills from local diabetes experts. Summer camp provides an opportunity for children to interact with one another while learning good diabetes self-care in a medically safe environment.
Thanks to the generosity of our donors, Camp UPeninsulin has been able to provide a low-cost/free camp, so that children living in the U.P. are able to attend regardless of financial status. Our registration fee in 2024 was $20.
Camp UPeninsulin services the following counties in Michigan: Alger, Delta, Houghton, Luce, Menominee, Baraga, Dickinson, Iron, Mackinac, Ontonagon, Chippewa, Gogebic, Keweenaw, Marquette, Schoolcraft, and beyond!
